Holton Stratodyne Tenor Saxophone 284XXX 1956

I've looked. Checked & checked, and I don't usually say this with such confidence about any of our horns, but with this one specifically, you're NOT going to see another one of these. This was Holton's last attempt at a Pro Sax that would take the world by storm.

One of our senior techs gave it a repad within the last year. It has an awesome little badge on its sold silver neck, the body is brass & the keys are mostly nickel, with some parts brass. Everything about the keyguards is swanky, this horn does not lack style. Tone wise, this is very similar to an early 10M, big sound, dark, and fantastic subtone. The top end is a little saucier than most vintage horns, I love that I can keep pushing it & it just keeps responding.

I've heard rumor of one other Tenor that showed up on an auction site, but that it sold low & was generally beat up, not sure if it had a neck even. Other than that, I've not seen a Stratodyne Tenor, let alone in such immaculate condition as this. If you're close to the Portland area, come try the horn, you're not likely to come across something this unique again.

When shipping, we fully insure through USPS, UPS or FedEx available on request. FedEx only insures to $1k so keep that in mind.

(The insurance tends to be a bulk of the cost, however it has been well worth it in the past.)
