If you just need / want a simple, always-on, affordable spring reverb, I don't think you'll be disappointed in this one.Not perfect, but better than most and for the money gets an A+.
1) I think it's a very good digital approximation of spring reverb, *but* there's just a touch of modulation happening in the trails that becomes increasingly audible as you turn up the dwell control.
2) it doesn't do that "drip" thing that some people really want from spring reverb - you know, that surfy pre-delay sound when you hit the note? it's "boingy" like a spring tank, but not drippy like the old Fender tube driven units or the Boss FRV-1. So if that's what you're after, it won't quite get you there - that said, with the mix and dwell cranked up, it's super lush and surfy sounding. With a bit of delay, great for ambient "pad" kinda stuff too.
