Stager SR-2N Stereo Ribbon Microphone

The Stager SR-2N Stereo Ribbon Microphone captures spacious, natural stereo recordings through a streamlined, single-point design.

Combining two SR-2N ribbon elements in a permanently fixed orientation, it makes sophisticated Blumlein and Mid-Side recording techniques easier to deploy while delivering the warm lows, rich mids, and smooth top end associated with a classic ribbon microphone. Built around the same ribbon, neodymium motor, and proprietary toroidal transformer design used in the standard SR-2N, this passive stereo ribbon microphone provides two closely integrated figure-8 pickup patterns within one microphone body. The fixed arrangement eliminates the time and positioning challenges of aligning two separate microphones, helping engineers achieve consistent stereo imaging with a clean, uncluttered setup. The Stager SR-2N Stereo Ribbon Microphone is an excellent choice for capturing piano, drum kits, acoustic ensembles, string sections, horn sections, vocal groups, and live room ambience. Its Blumlein configuration produces an immersive stereo image with realistic depth and room information, while Mid-Side processing provides flexible control over stereo width during mixing. Handcrafted in Nashville, the SR-2N Stereo brings boutique construction and unmistakable ribbon character to studio, broadcast, and live recording applications.
