Experience Sonic Excellence with Neumann TLM 103 Condenser Microphone
The Neumann TLM 103 has made its mark as a resounding success, solidifying its position in Neumann's history as an iconic microphone. Representing a contemporary twist on the revered U87, the TLM 103 delivers an immaculate and clear sound, capturing your audio with unparalleled precision. As a transformerless cardioid condenser microphone, it boasts a gentle presence boost that results in an awe-inspiring direct sound defined by remarkable definition and ultra-low noise.

A Modern Classic and Studio Standard
Originally introduced in 1997 as an accessible alternative to the esteemed U87, the TLM 103 has evolved into a contemporary classic. Today, it stands as the benchmark against which modern studio microphones are measured. Its distinctive tapered headgrille design bears the unmistakable Neumann aesthetic.

Unveiling the Sound Magic
The TLM 103 is defined by a large diaphragm condenser capsule, inheriting the legacy of the legendary Neumann U87's K67/87 capsule. However, the TLM 103 boasts a modern voicing, characterized by a wide presence boost above 5 kHz. This unique sound profile lends itself beautifully to vocals and solo instruments that effortlessly stand out in a mix. The authoritative midrange, a signature of Neumann microphones, is also present, ensuring the TLM 103's relevance in studios worldwide. Notably, the microphone's controlled yet deep low end is perfect for robust bass instruments and resonant voices.

Unmatched Technical Brilliance
The TLM 103 sets a new standard for technical performance. Its astonishingly low self-noise of 7 dB-A makes it one of the quietest microphones available. Boasting a sensitivity of 23 mV/Pa, it excels even with budget preamps, audio interfaces, or vintage tube equipment. Moreover, the TLM 103 can handle sound pressure levels up to 138 dB without preattenuation. With an impressive dynamic range of 131 dB, it effortlessly captures everything from delicate whispers to thunderous bass drums without introducing unwanted noise or distortion.

True Unadulterated Sound
Part of Neumann's TLM series, the TLM 103 features a transformerless output stage that minimizes transmission losses, ensuring an uncolored, immediate sound faithful to the original source. Its exceptional bass response remains clear and powerful, even at high signal levels. Designed with project studios and broadcasting in mind, the TLM 103's stellar performance quickly caught the attention of renowned studios, offering a modern alternative to the U87 for applications such as speech, vocals, drums, guitar amps, and piano. It's also a popular choice as a spot microphone in classical recordings, particularly for cello and double bass.
