GAR-1731 Discrete OpAmp (API 2520 Pinout)

Brand new GAR-1731 discrete op-amp, hand built at our studio in Chicago. Soldering is tight and neat and the PCBs are fully cleaned. Op-amps are burned in and tested with a scope and spectrum analyzer.  We also make and have listings for other op-amps such as GAR 2520, CA-0252, and 990 types. 

The GAR-1731 fits in the standard API 2520 pinout that are used in mic preamps, equalizers and compressors. You can use this to replace API 2520 op-amps that are dead or as an upgrade.

Description:

This circuit has been designed by Gary Barnett of Barnett Industries. This DOA is an eight transistor amplifier modeled after the legendary 1960's 1731™. For those who do not know it, many of the engineers responsible for the 1731™ joined forces with Saul Walker when he started API. The starting point for the famous API 2520 was indeed the 1731™. Back to the beginning I guess one could say!

The gar1731™ sounds absolutely fantastic in our all of our kits and modules. Overall, it's sonically very similar to the sound of a 2520. The gar1731™ has a slightly smoother bottom and top, while simultaneously retaining the ever familiar aggressive, forward midrange we love about the 2520.

Shipping: We ship op-amps in a USPS flat rate small box. In 2026 thats a little over $10 - we eat the change. If you order more than one, its only an extra dollar for shipping each additional op-amp in the same box (the dollar covers the extra insurance). If you think you need more than one op-amp, you can can save a bit combining on one order for shipping. Also, different op-amps we sell can be combined to save on shipping.
