Cortez D-3 Pro-Rhythm Mini Synth ( OEM is Coron DC-861 DS-8 ) early 80's Japan

Uber über rare Cortez D-3 Pro-Rhythm Mini Synth early 80's in mint condition with box and instruction sheet. Thoroughly tested and in full working order. 

OEM ( Original Equipment Manufacturer ) is the Coron DC-861 DS-8 Percussion & Drum Synthe, but many pedals were also labeled under different brands such as this Cortez D-3.

" The Coron DS-8 drum & percussion synthe is from the 1980's and was a portable drum synthesizer unit to be attached to a drum kit's snare drum to enhance the player's kit with modern sounds of it's time. The unit contains one VCO and a noise generator that generates white or pink noise and mixed with the balance control giving the instrument.

The oscillator features a sweepable range with a dedicated knob. There is an envelope that offers decay only and an LFO with Rate intensity. The unit is triggering by snare hits but could also be triggered from other vibrations or from a foot switch or audio source, Some of the units are labelled as "Drum & Percussion Synthe" not "Synth"

Knob function description :

Volume : controls the output volume

Sensitivity : controls the sensitivity of the module (the threshold at which it is triggered)

Rate : controls the speed/rate of the LFO wave that controls the pitch

Decay : controls the length of the sound

Mode : controls the depth of the LFO wave that controls the pitch

VCO : controls the pitch of the Oscillator

Sweep : controls the range in which the oscillator sweeps

Noise : adds pink or white noise

Intensity : LFO rate intensity

Balance : controls the mix between the noise and the oscillator "
