You are looking at a very rare 1932 aluminum violin.
If you've seen one, it may have been in a museum or vintage auction.
These were built by the Aluminum Company of American (Alcoa) in Buffalo, NY for the Aluminum Musical Instruments Co. in Ann Arbor MI. Alcoa records suggest that 435 aluminum violins were produced.
Violin is strung can be tuned to pitch and fully functional.
I do not believe the case is original. The bow needs re-haired.
