We're offering this 2005 Fender Jaguar Baritone Custom in the classic 3-color Sunburst finish. Manufactured in Japan 2005 to 2006, this Jaguar Baritone is basically a combination of a 1964 Fender Jaguar guitar & 1961 Fender Bass VI. In reality it's a bass, not a baritone, with standard tuning E to E, one octave lower than a standard guitar- same string set as the Bass VI but with a slightly shorter scale length of 28.5"(Bass VI is 30"). It has a stop tailpiece and Adjustomatic bridge, with the body shape/pickup configuration/switching setup of the two pickup Jaguar, rather than the three-pickup Bass VI. In 2006, Fender USA changed the name to Jaguar Bass VI Custom(which is more accurate). The term baritone guitar normally refers to one tuned B to B. (This Jaguar Baritone Custom is not to be confused with the similarly named Fender Jaguar Baritone Special HH which does have B to B tuning and a 27-inch scale length.)
Basically with this guitar you can get vintage Bass VI tones without the sky-high price - think Jack Bruce on Crossroad, Glen Campbell on Wichita Lineman, and everything in between. Features not mentioned above include an alder body for classic tone, 9.5 inch radius Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, two Special Design Jaguar single coils for twangy tones, unique Jaguar lead/rhythm switching, vintage style tuners, and tortoise style pickguard. It's got a "scar" on the back edge(see pic) but otherwise very nice condition and a fine instrument for studio work as well as the stage. There's no case but it will be packed well. Please ask any and all questions by phone or e-mail before purchasing. Thanks for looking!
