1958 Gretsch White Penguin guitar. ORIGINAL and RARE!
There are roughly 12 original 50's single cutaway Gretsch White Penguins known to exist.
This historical White Penguin (Affectionately known as: Dirty White Boy) was the FIRST one found and put in to the public domain. Prior to this guitar, it was not known if the "White Penguin" even existed, since it did not appear in any Gretsch Catalogs. The only reference known to the white Penguin back in the day was the model number listed on a few price lists.
Guitar is in very "played" condition! One backplate has been replaced with the exact vintage part. (Just not painted gold.) See photos for the details.
This instrument has been in a private collection for the last 35+ years and has been in numerous books and magazines.
Many consider the White Penguin THE Holy Grail of vintage guitars.
