The neck is a beautiful looking Bakelite-style Rock Maple neck, meaning it is in the same unique shape (almost Gibson-like) on the top of the headstock. In 1929, National made a short run of Bakelite-necked Triolians with this shape, but most all of them either cracked and/or got recalled and replaced with Maple necks...turned out Bakelite was not a durable neck material. This one is a beautiful homage to the very cool neck shape of these, carved of Rock Maple, so no problems....
The wonderful reproduction of the 1930s classic Triolian Polychrome, replete with steel body, formed back, flat f-holes, yellopw/gold finish, stenciled black palm tree scene with orange sunset on the back, ebony, ivoroid-bound fingerboard, rock Maple neck...this guitar is a to-die-for beauty all the way, and sounds so great! Love it.
