Here for sale we have an Ibanez Prestige SR3000E 4-String Electric Bass in Stained Oil finish. Made in Japan between 2001 and 2004, this bass consists of a Mahogany body, a 5-piece Wenge/Bubinga neck, and a 24-fret Wenge fingerboard. Other appointments include a Mono Rail bridge with D-tuner, Cosmo Black hardware, Gotoh 510 tuners, and a set of Bartolini Custom Passive Humbucking pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume, pickup balancer, 3-band EQ, and a mid frequency control.  

The 5-Piece Wenge and Bubinga neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the ‘SR4 Prestige’ profile feeling slim, allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The 12” radius Wenge fingerboard provides a comfortable playing surface, which allows for different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The Satin finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cutaway body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire 24 fret register.

The pair of passive Bartolini Custom humbucking pickups installed in this bass work in conjunction with the on-board preamp to deliver an incredibly versatile range of sounds. There is a great fundamental bass tone with the controls at their midpoints, producing a warm and powerful low end, clear mids and sparkling top end that captures the attack of your playing. The electronics feature volume and balance control along with a 3 band EQ and mid-frequency control, allowing the player to control treble, middle and bass frequencies. The simplistic, yet logistical, nature of the control layout provides the player with an easy ‘plug in and go’ characteristic with plenty of scope for tonal shaping and exploring every possible sound that this bass can produce.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. Light indentations are present to the top edge of the headstock, this is most prominent to the bass side top edge. Light markings are present to the front face near the logo, these can only be seen under direct light.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body display light to mild indentations, the most apparent of these are situated to the rear face near the neck bolts and treble side edge. Light wear marking is present to the bass side of the neck pickup, this is consistent with past use and can be seen under direct light. Light paint transfer is present to the bass side shoulder edge.  

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. Light denting and flattening of the frets is apparent to the early register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Overall very good condition. light tarnishing of the finish is present to the metal hardware, this is most apparent to the bridge saddles consistent with past use.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm

Overall very good condition and fully functional. A previous owner has applied stickers to the exterior of the case, with this light to mild markings are also present to the exterior.
