This is a full-size 4/4 Paulus violin, identified as German-made and dating to 1893, reference number 17606. The luthier's label is visible and shown in photos. It is accompanied by an existing appraisal, a BAM hardshell case, two bows (one wood, one carbon-fiber Diamond X Coda), and a clip-on tuner.
One of this violin’s best qualities is its projection. I originally selected it for its ability to carry in acoustic sessions without a microphone, so it would be wonderful in ensemble settings.
The violin has also been fitted with upgraded geared tuning pegs, which provide a smoother tuning experience. This addition really makes precise tuning a breeze and is super convenient.
I purchased this violin for $3000 a few years ago, and a new appraisal lists it for $3300. I'm asking a little over that due to the included case, bows, and tuner.
Note that I was an Irish fiddle player, so the bridge is adjusted for that style. For classical playing you may want to swap the bridge out to your taste.
