2019 Cherry Red Gibson ES-345 w/ Original Hard Shell Case
Serial #: 709810248
The Gibson ES-345 Semi-Hollow in 60s Cherry takes the proven ES-335 platform and dresses it with the distinctive appointments that have long set the ES-345 apart. With its split parallelogram inlays, multi-ply body binding, and classic Cherry finish, it has an unmistakably upscale look while retaining the versatile semi-hollow construction that has made Gibson's ES family a favorite across blues, rock, jazz, soul, and roots music. For players who want classic ES feel with a little more visual presence, the ES-345 occupies a particularly appealing place in the lineup.
The body uses three-ply maple, poplar, and maple construction around a solid maple centerblock, with quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce bracing supporting the semi-hollow structure. The centerblock provides a solid foundation for sustain and helps control feedback at stage volume, while the hollow wings retain the resonance and responsiveness associated with an ES. Three-ply cream binding frames the body, and the gloss nitrocellulose lacquer 60s Cherry finish gives this ES-345 the vibrant, familiar appearance associated with some of Gibson's most recognizable semi-hollow guitars.
A mahogany neck with a Rounded C profile provides a comfortable, substantial feel without getting in the way of faster playing. The 24.75" scale length keeps string tension manageable for bends and expressive vibrato, while the 12" radius rosewood fingerboard provides a familiar Gibson playing surface. Twenty-two medium jumbo frets offer plenty of room for rhythm and lead work, and acrylic Split Parallelogram inlays give the ES-345 one of its most recognizable visual signatures. A 1.7" Graph Tech nut completes the playing setup.
The hardware stays rooted in classic Gibson design. An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge works with a lightweight aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, while steel thumb wheels and studs provide a sturdy mounting point for the bridge assembly. Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons maintain the traditional appearance at the headstock. Nickel hardware, a black five-ply pickguard, black Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors, and a cream switch tip complement the 60s Cherry finish without distracting from the guitar's elegant lines.
A pair of Calibrated T-Type humbuckers provides the electrical voice, with a Rhythm model in the neck and Lead model at the bridge. The familiar two-volume and two-tone control arrangement makes it easy to shape each pickup independently, while a three-way toggle provides straightforward selection between the neck, combined, and bridge positions. The control assembly is hand-wired with Orange Drop capacitors, keeping the electronics layout traditional and practical for players who want quick access to a wide range of humbucker sounds.
