The Avantone Pro CV-12 BLA is a Black Lion Audio collaboration on the CV-12 platform. BLA reworked the circuit for a flatter response (taming the classic CV-12 high-mid bump), swapped in a 34 mm CK12-style capsule for smoother highs and stronger lows, added a Solen FastCap coupling capacitor for transparency, and redesigned the power supply around a new low-noise circuit. Higher headroom makes it more utilitarian across drums, piano, guitars, and vocals.
What Changed From CV-12
Same 6072A tube topology and nine PSU-selected polar patterns, with BLA's capsule, coupling, and PSU changes aimed at balanced full-range sources rather than a mid-forward vocal specialty alone.
