If you're looking for a standout piece that has a classic foundation with a rare finish, here's a Les Paul with serious presence.  We just took in this Gibson Les Paul Classic Copper Top - built as a limited version in 2003, it's a distinctive offering that puts a unique spin on the iconic Goldtop aesthetic. Featuring a gorgeous warm copper nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this is a head-turning guitar for sure.  It came to us from a collector that put it to use on stage, so there's some honest player but overall it's quite clean.  And, it's been nicely upgraded.
Built the traditional way, this Classic features a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body paired with a carved maple top.  This brings the unmistakable sustain, resonance, and feel that classic Les Paul should have - and this one definitely does.  Even unplugged, you can tell it sounds great.  The one-piece mahogany neck features Gibson's fast and comfortable 1960s Slim Taper profile, paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard, aged pearloid trapezoid inlays, and 22 frets.
This Les Paul Classic was upgraded with Seymour Duncan Antiquities humbuckers.  These are premium, vintage-style pickups designed to recreate the sound, feel, and character of original late-1950s Gibson humbuckers.  The neck pickup provides a warm and sweet tone that is quite articulate.  The bridge pickup brings more bite with a vintage growl and excellent sustain.  Together, you have a set that's dynamic and responsive to your playing, with classic PAF character
Other features include nickel hardware, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, and stopbar tailpiece.  The original case is included, as are the original pickups (496R neck / 500T bridge) and the pickguard which is currently not on the guitar.  Additionally there is a strap with strap locks on it.
This isn't a light guitar by any means - it's for someone that appreciates the full weight of a classic Les Paul and wants all of the tone that it brings.  Whether for a collector or a serious player, this is a great choice if you want a Les Paul that will stand out.
The guitar is in great condition, especially considering it's nearly a quarter century old.  It has been put to use for what it was intended for, so you have scratches on the back, a few dings and normal wear but nothing major.  Setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, this eye-catching Les Paul Classic is ready for its next player.
