Here for sale we have a Gibson Rex Brown Signature Thunderbird Electric Bass in Ebony finish. Made in the USA in 2022, this bass consists of a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, and a 20-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a Hipshot Bass bridge, Hipshot Mini-Clover tuners with Drop D Xtender, Gold hardware, and a set of Rexbucker Thunderbird pickups. These pickups are wired to two volume controls, and a master tone (push/pull active/passive switch).

The Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, with the 'Rounded' profile allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning, whilst the Gloss finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers, whilst the 12” radius and frets allow for ease of different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire register, whilst also making longer durations of playing a comfortable experience.

Amplified, the Rexbucker Thunderbird Humbuckers provide a fantastic fundamental bass tone, with a deep rumbling low end that will fill out any mix. The mid range is warm and adds a distinct character to the tone, whilst the high end frequencies add a nice snappy fast attack. The individual volume controls allow you to blend the neck and bridge pickups in any combination, providing a versatile range of tones suitable for a multitude of musical settings. The addition of the push/pull active/passive switch allows the player to explore even more tonal variety.
