The Eastman MD515CC (Comfort Contour) is a specialized variant of the standard MD515. While it shares the same high-quality hand-carved solid spruce top and solid figured maple back and sides, it introduces major differences in body ergonomics and finish. The Core Differences

• The Beveled Edge (Comfort Contour): The "CC" designation means the sharp edges where the top and back meet the sides have been significantly rounded down, eased, or beveled. Standard mandolins have a hard, 90-degree bound edge that can dig into your forearm during long playing sessions. The CC contour removes this pressure point entirely. 
• No Top Binding: To achieve the smooth, curved contour, Eastman eliminates the traditional white/ivory plastic binding on the top of the body. The wood of the top and back curves naturally directly into the sides. 
• True Tone Vintage Finish: Standard MD515s usually have a high-gloss, reflective lacquer finish. The MD515CC features Eastman's True Tone Vintage (TV) gloss or Vintage Nitro satin finish. This is a much thinner, softer, semi-gloss sheen that mimics aged vintage lacquer.
