Fender JB62SS – Rare Japanese Short Scale Jazz Bass

The elusive Fender JB62SS (smart scale bass!)

This rare 29.5” short scale Jazz Bass was manufactured by Fender Japan exclusively for the Japanese market. Released in 2014–15, the run lasted about 12 months; given the limited production coupled with lack of availability in the US, these don’t pop up for sale very often.

The JB62SS is completely scaled down to 85% the size of its full scale brother (the pickups & hardware are standard size).

While Fender Japan currently makes a different version of the short scale Jazz Bass, i.e., the Junior Collection, the quality of the Junior doesn’t come close to the OG!! The Junior is larger and both plays & feels more like a beginner’s instrument.

The JB62SS is just a smaller version of Fender Japan’s lauded Jazz Basses, so you can feel the quality immediately!!!

Unfortunately had a small piece of the paint come off the headstock- so that is reflected in the price
