This is a Rega Planar 3 50th Anniversary Edition in the walnut-effect finish. Rega built this limited-run version for its 50th birthday. It was sold only during 2024 and ordering closed in December of that year. US retail was $1,695.

The Anniversary Edition isn’t only a cosmetic special. It adds several upgrades over a standard Planar 3:

• Neo PSU MK2 power supply, hand-tuned to the motor at the factory. It gives push-button 33/45 speed change and lower motor vibration.
• Rega Exact MM cartridge, handmade and factory-fitted and aligned
• RB330 tonearm
• CNC-machined aluminum motor pulley taken from the Planar 6
• Reference EBLT drive belt
• 12mm Opti-white float-glass platter
• Double-braced laminated plinth using a phenolic top and bottom brace
• Smoked dust cover, with exclusive aluminum “Rega 50” badges on the plinth and lid

Bought as a standard Planar 3 with the same Exact cartridge, Neo PSU and belt and pulley, this package would have cost noticeably more.
