Cosmetically, minor nicks here and there 8.5/10. Functions perfectly 10/10. This unit has been upgraded by Makitronix Audio to take it from a mid-tier preamp to a pro level piece of kit. Both channels have the Jensen coupling transformers and upgraded opamps (Linear Technologies LT-1357) and audio capacitors (Nichicon). All knobs have been lubricated and worked back and forth, so no scratchy pots. After upgrades, this is a gorgeous sounding dual preamp and the noise dead silent. You can see in the audio analyzer images that the LT1357 provide a flat frequency response. They are very fast and clear sounding and not at all harsh. Great for drums or any any percussive instruments since they capture transients extremely well. You can make a great album with this unit!
