This reconditioned and semi-rare 5 string is an unusual offering from JH Buckbee. With a short(er) scale and smaller rim than most traditional Buckbees, this banjo is stamped "Tremont No. 89", representing the Bronx neighborhood where the Buckbee factory was located and an internal model number.
This classic Buckbee features vintage tuners, a vintage bridge, Buckbee hardware, a bone nut, new goat skin head, new LaBella 17 strings, and a period appropriate tailpiece. There was a neck crack at one time but it has been expertly repaired.
