RARE "Tip" Lamberson Professional Handmade Flute

This is an extremely rare "Tip" Lamberson professional handmade flute.  Nathaniel "Tip" Lamberson was a highly respected Artisan flute maker based in the United States.  His instruments are renown for their incredible sound, craftsmanship, and beautiful design.  During his career he produced a total of only 730 flutes, making his instruments extremely hard to find and highly sought after.

Lamberson's flutes were crafted between 1968 and 1985.  This flute, with a serial number of 687, was one if his later instruments, produced in the early 1980's.

The flute was recently fully serviced by renown woodwind tech John Butler (Straubinger Cert.), and is in perfect playing condition.  The instrument is exceptional.  The flute plays perfectly from top to bottom, with a wonderful resonant, robust, sparkling sound.  It has wonderful color across all registers and incredible projection.  The scale of the instrument is superb - even across all registers.  The mechanism is beautifully crafted with an extremely quick, light touch.

Cosmetically the instrument looks wonderful, and was completely disassembled and cleaned/polished during COA.  The flute only had one previous owner and came from the estate of professional musician based in NYC. The instrument was professionally owned and maintained throughout its lifetime.  It shows only normal wear from from responsible, professional use.  Cosmetically 9.5+/10.

The flute comes in a brand new solid cherry French Style fitted case with black velvet interior.  There is a small scratch on the exterior corner of the case, but it is otherwise perfect. The case is in a new, nylon, zippered Weismann case cover with shearing lining.  The flute will also come with what is assumed to be the original leather-covered French case with indigo velvet interior lining.  This case is structurally sound, but shows heavy wear from use and storage over the years.  Also included is a professional Powell-style wooden cleaning rod.

Because of their limited numbers, and the fact that their owners rarely part with them, Lambersons are difficult to find on the used market.  It is also becoming almost impossible to find a handmade silver, professional flute with soldered tone holes at this price point.  This flute would be perfect for a professional musician, serious college student, professional doubler, or collector/Lamberson enthusiast.

The flute will be shipped via Fedex Ground or USPS.
