[Description]

The D-45 was born in 1933 by special order for country musician Gene Autry. Since its reissue in 1968, it has established its name as Martin's flagship model and continues to fascinate guitarists all over the world.

Loved by iconic artists such as CSN&Y (David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Neil Young), it continues to radiate a special presence as a pinnacle of acoustic guitars.

This D-45 Standard features a premium grade spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back, and a black ebony fingerboard and bridge. The abalone decorations and delicate inlay work framing the body highlight the elegance and dignity unique to Martin's top tier model.

The scalloped X-bracing generates rich overtones and superb responsiveness. The deep, powerful bass and glossy highs harmonize beautifully, accommodating a wide range of expression from grand strumming to delicate fingerpicking.

[Sound]

During chord strumming, even when played powerfully, each string maintains its clarity without getting buried while rich overtones expand. The impactful resonance of the bass strings and the rich, full-bodied resonance transmitted from the entire body are impressive, allowing you to fully enjoy the grand scale unique to a Dreadnought.

In fingerpicking, each note has excellent articulation with a glossy, clear tone. It responds faithfully even to a light touch, carefully expressing delicate nuances. The core of the sound has just the right thickness, offering a rich presence even with single notes.

[Appearance]

The top displays a tasteful amber aging, retaining the natural brightness of spruce while exuding a calm, warm feel. The Indian rosewood sides and back feature beautiful, clearly defined grain lines. The black ebony fingerboard exhibits a deep color close to pure black, and the mahogany neck shows a fine, straight quarter-sawn grain.

[Condition]

There is age-related yellowing/tanning on the top, subtle ridges near the body binding due to finish shrinkage, some paint peeling, and fine scratches visible to the naked eye throughout. However, overall signs of use are minimal and the guitar remains in good playing condition.
