We're going to let the pictures do the talking, on this one . . . WOW! This 1957 Gibson J50 is a one-owner guitar, purchased new locally, and lived in central PA its entire life. As you can see, it was very well-cared for during those 69 years. We gave it a gentle cleaning and put on a set of 11s. The action is perfect, all the way up the neck; super playable with minimal fret ware! As you would expect, this guitar is tremendously resonant, with that full-bodied vintage Gibson tone. The original owner swapped out the original white-button Kluson tuners for a bit more reliable set of generic, modern independent tuners, added a strap button on the heel (pictured) and added a passive piezo pickup under the adjustable saddle. It has the usual finish checking and the hairline crack in the top that runs from the bridge to the neck, underneath the pickguard, that is typical of most Gibson acoustics from this era. The last eight photos show the existing minor finish blemishes. The original chipboard faux alligator case is also included. Shipping to the Continental US will be free.
