This 1981 Rickenbacker 4003 bass is in very good vintage condition. This bass shows signs of play wear and age throughout including some small dings around the body and body edges, some buckle wear on the back, some heavy finish wear on the back of the neck, finish checking throughout and some tarnishing of the chrome plated metal hardware. In other respects this is a very nice well played example with a killer looking vibrant Fireglo finish. This instrument is original throughout with the exception of the black plastic pickup surround. 

This 4003 has a stellar feeling maple neck with a medium rounded profile and a 1 11/16” nut width. The finish has worn just right on the back of the neck so it feels like an old glove! The fingerboard is nice and clean and free of any divots and the original fret wire is in great shape. This bass has just received a pro set up and it plays exceptional up and down the fingerboard with killer action and spot on intonation. This bass plays like absolute butter! 

The electronics in this Rick have been cleaned and are in perfect working order. The wiring harness is original and potentiometers date to 1980. Both original pickups sound superb and deliver that quintessential high gain Rickenbacker tone. This bass excels for most styles of rock.
