The J-45 is one of the absolute best-sellers among Gibson acoustic guitars and has been an integral part of the model range since 1942. Since its market launch, many different editions and variants of this legendary model have been brought onto the market.

This guitar is a 2011 J-45 True Vintage in a beautiful Vintage Sunburst finish. The guitar is in perfect technical condition and is ready to play right away: optimal neck angle, frets in very good condition, bridge insert in place with sufficient clearance, and very comfortable string action. The Trussrod also works and does what it’s supposed to.

Of course, our luthiers also performed a professional setup that included restringing.

Visually, the guitar and its original case are also in great condition. The guitar has been played, and there are the usual slight signs of wear and small scratches here and there; overall, however, as you can see in the photos, it’s in great condition.

The case is also in very good condition; it closes properly and doesn’t smell.

Sonically, the Adirondack spruce top harmonizes beautifully with the Honduran mahogany back and sides, and the guitar does exactly what it’s supposed to—and what you’d expect from a well-played-in J45: The perfect instrument for the stage, the studio, or the couch, with presence, a woody “Gibson tone,” and a nice boost in the midrange.
