Schecter Michael Anthony MA-4 Bass in Gloss Natural

Schecter Michael Anthony MA-4 Bass in Gloss Natural

The Michael Anthony MA-4 is a comfortable, fast-playing four-string bass built for musicians who value responsive ergonomics and straightforward tone. Its thin "C"-shaped neck and 34" scale deliver extended reach and articulate note definition, while the striking Koa top mounted on Swamp Ash body produces warm, resonant tone without unnecessary coloration. This is a capable instrument for working bassists and serious hobbyists seeking quality construction and approachable playability.

Playability & Feel

The thin "C" neck shape measures .787" at the 1st fret and .866" at the 12th fret, providing responsive hand positioning and fast movement across the fretboard. 21 extra-jumbo frets with a 12" fretboard radius, combined with a Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut (1.496" wide), ensure smooth articulation and comfortable string spacing for extended playing sessions.

Tone & Electronics

Dual Schecter USA MonsterTone pickups—a J-style bridge and P-style neck configuration—deliver passive tone shaping through a simple volume/tone/3-way switch control layout. This straightforward passive electronics design allows the natural resonance of the Koa and Swamp Ash construction to express itself without active preamp coloration.
