This was originally a small PA amp, which was converted a few years back for guitar use. My nephew wanted an amp for his desktop studio, something small but high-gain. This is the result. It's all point to point, handwired. Uses a standard 12AX7 preamp. The rectifier is a 6BW4 tube, which is a higher-current tube than a 6CA4. The power tube is a 6L6, which makes this one loud single-ended little monkey. Controls are Gain, Volume and Tone, so pretty simple to dial-in how dirty you want the sound, and how much sound you want. Being single-ended, it has more background noise than a push-pull, so when Gain is dimed you definitely miss the twin power tube. After he returned the amp to me, a 3-way switch was added to allow more flexibility -- it's more neg feed back, less neg feed back, and no neg feed back. Actually changes the complexion of the amp a lot, and now you can use hot PAFs without overwhelming the output.

Currently the output is 8-ohm, but adjustable to 4 or 16 ohms with just a flathead screwdriver.

I REALLY have to move out some of the collection, so will be listing more shortly. Please let me know if questions. Local pickup in Baltimore is welcome.
