Description

The G&L S-500 debuted in 1982 as Leo's own evolution of the traditional double-cutaway bolt-on guitar, with innovations he designed himself. Its pickups deliver a bright, sparkly top end and a robust bottom end without losing midrange focus. You'll find plenty of punch, but what's surprising is how glassy and detailed the tone becomes as you roll back the volume and bass controls. Extra pickup combinations add even more range, and in a pinch the neck and bridge pickups together do a convincing faux ASAT Special. Talk about versatile!

Leo's vibrato is a work of engineering art. It lets you bend up or down with unsurpassed stability, and its beefy arm has a silky feel. Leo's forward-looking spirit shows clearly in the S-500, a guitar he designed for players who share that spirit, and now it's available at a price within reach of every working musician. Once you play a G&L Tribute Series, you'll never look back.
