Positioned just below the elite Custom Shop models, the SG Supreme combined the iconic, double-cutaway SG body shape with luxurious aesthetics and upgraded components.  Key Features of the 2000 Model The year 2000 was a pivotal transitional phase for the SG Supreme line, marked by a major shift in hardware and electronics: 

• The Humbucker Transition: While the SG Supreme was introduced in 1999 exclusively with P-90 pickups, the 2000 model year introduced dual humbuckers (specifically Gibson '57 Classic or PAF Reissue pickups). This configuration quickly became the standard and ultimately led to the discontinuation of the P-90 variant a couple of years later.
