1959 Gibson Melody Maker – Original Left-Handed – Extremely Rare
A genuine, original 1959 Gibson Melody Maker in left-handed configuration. This is not a reissue, but an original guitar from the model’s first year of production.
I have owned this guitar for over 30 years, and in all that time I have only ever seen one other example like it listed for sale. It is possible that these left-handed models were produced in extremely limited numbers, although exact production figures are unknown.
Introduced in 1959, the Melody Maker became a classic of Gibson’s early solid-body electric guitar range, appreciated for its simplicity, lightweight design and distinctive vintage tone.
Finding an original example from the first year is special enough. Finding one left-handed makes it a particularly unusual instrument and a potentially exciting addition to a serious vintage guitar collection.
A rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of Gibson history that is seldom seen on the market.
Original bridge included. Some one changed the tuners before I owned it (see pic). Original case.
