For sale is a beautiful, highly collectible 1980s OME Monarch 5-string resonator banjo from the highly regarded Boulder, Colorado era. Handcrafted with a solid walnut resonator and neck, this professional-grade bluegrass instrument offers incredible volume, crisp note separation, and the punchy midrange clarity that OME's walnut builds are legendary for. This instrument is a true 'time capsule' estate package and comes accompanied by its exceptional original documentation and vintage accessories, including:

• The original OME Banjo Company handwritten invoice (Boulder, CO address, documenting a unique historical trade-in from the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield).
• Original blue plush-lined hardshell case (fully functional, though it shows significant vintage wear, major scuffs, a cracked handle casing, a detached interior pocket pull-tab with the plastic tab included inside, slight interior staining, and a small, clean Tolex repair on the top edge).
• Original instructional chord books ('The Original Banjo Case Chord Book' by Larry Sandberg and 'Alfred Handy Guide: Banjo Chord Dictionary').
• Original vintage maintenance tools (including the factory bracket T-wrench and coordinator key).

Condition: The banjo is structurally excellent and visually gorgeous with a beautifully preserved wood grain. The instrument displays honest vintage playing wear consistent with its age, including minor surface buckle rash on the back resonator and light fret pitting. There is minor cosmetic flaking/scraping to the black finish on the outer rim cap near the hardware hooks and a small cosmetic finish ding/wear spot on the side of the neck heel. There is also a very small indentation on the frosted plastic layer of the banjo head (visible in close-up photos). The underlying wood rim assembly and neck heel are 100% structurally solid with no cracks, structural breaks, or repairs. The banjo currently has one broken string and is being sold completely as-is; it functions as a stunning historical piece and will require a fresh set of strings and a standard technical setup to match the new owner's playing preferences.
