Mr. Speakers Aeon Flow Closed 2017 - Black

I'm selling the MrSpeakers/ Dan Clark Audio Aeon Flow closed back headphones. I purchased it used out of interest of how DCA headphones without spending too much, and I was surprised how nice these older headphones sounded. One thing I'd note is that despite feeling quite light at 340g, they do like more power than it was getting with the standard 6.35 mm unbalanced cable included with the headphones, which I think was the source of criticisms of these headphones supposedly sounding "compressed" and being devoid of bass in reviews. I bought an off-brand balanced XLR cable to test if power was the issue, and it really came alive suddenly and sounded so much fuller with even a bit of bass suddenly materializing, and with adequate power the sound has aged well despite being nearly 10 years old. XLR is what I'd personally recommend for the best sound, and I am willing to throw in the XLR cable I bought myself into the deal unless you just don't plan to use it or already have a better cable. There is a little nick in the outside of the case and a little scratch on the black paint but as far as everything related to sound quality it's fantastic.

This is an older set of headphones obviously, and the headband strap is starting to get a bit worn but is very cheap to replace but just wouldn't have the "MrSpeakers" name on it. It doesn't bother me at all, but if you shave your head or are bald it might be more noticeable on your skin and can be replaced or covered as cheap as ~$15 or so online depending on what you get.

I kind of hate to sell these because they are really comfortable and light and sound wonderful, but my collection was getting too crowded and the wife is definitely not a fan of my hi fi collection occupying a decent chunk of space in our office, so I have to let this one go but am impressed by the DCA sound. One final note I'd add is that although this is the closed back model, it's the least claustrophobic of any closed back headphones I've used. I typically have a strong preference towards open back headphones, but these are really comfortable and pleasant for me to use.
