This is NOT the cheaper D20 industrial utilitarian aluminum cabinet "lunch box" or "toaster" version of the D20 with a metal handle a-fixed on top, that were the initial Base or "Standard" cheaper alternative versions. This is the D20TS - a rare, premium, Limited-edition Baltic Birch wood cabinet wrapped in Custom Tolex version of the original D20 "providing classic boutique aesthetic".

This original version D20TS has brighter voicing compared to the "darker" Mk II. The more recently released D20 Mk II has been re-voiced as a darker Amp but provides a Bright Switch to dial the top-end back in. The original D20TS version is less "processed" (not designed as darker and then needing a Bright circuit to "give back" the top-end). Especially for Studio work, the D20TS's lack of foot-switchable Boost and Reverb is a non-issue since most Studio/Recording musicians will be using their own select choice of pedals that provide superior Boost, Reverb or other effects options compared to any limited built-in digital effects. The D20TS has the Boost function available via Push/Pull front panel "Master Gain" control.

When not using pedals, the more clear pure tone of the D20TS make it the preferred of all the D20 versions when not playing Metal (but the D20TS takes pedals well if Metal is on the menu). You can always add to or selectively modify a clear pure tone better than you can compensate for one that is not.

NOTE: There has been confusion by some (including Reverb's pricing guide), so just to clarify: Revv initially released aluminum metal cabinet "lunch box" or "toaster" versions of this head (originally in either Black or White, with Revv later expanding the lineup with limited-run colorways such as Seafoam Green, Red, and Gold). These Base units have a metal handle a-fixed on top and were released at a reduced price as the "Standard" cheaper alternative to this premium Limited release D20TS head.

All Tube Amp Head:

The D20TS is an all-tube amp head — with glowing-hot 6V6s in the power Amp and 12AX7s in the pre-Amp. Thanks to embedded Reactive Load and Virtual Cabinet tech from Two Notes, the cab is optional. Includes a 3-band EQ, Volume and Gain controls, along with a push-pull Master Gain pot for a crunchier voicing and a power-reduction circuit to attain cranked-amp sounds at lower volumes. A buffered series FX loop sweetens the pot. The Revv D20TS is a great sounding Tube Amp with tons of modern features.

Embedded Two Notes tech for cab-free rocking:

With just the D20TS and a PA, you have everything you need to obtain miked-cab tone. Built-in technology, from cabinet-emulation masters at Two Notes, provides you with six customizable virtual cabinets selectable via the amp’s front panel. You can access up to 128 via MIDI as well. You can use the D20TS’s 6V6-loaded power amp or bypass it and change the amp’s character with a simulated power section. KT66s? 6L6s? EL84s? EL34s? The D20TS is a complete standalone solution — a reactive load automatically engages when a speaker isn’t connected to safeguard your amp. The D20TS's tones were dialed in by Nashville session pros. With all the embedded tech bypassed, when cranked it up, it’s a winner.
