Fender American Original '60s Stratocaster – 2019 – Used

Fender’s American Original series earned a strong reputation by faithfully preserving the brand’s traditional vintage character while seamlessly incorporating the playability demanded by modern guitarists. We are pleased to offer this 2019 American Original '60s Stratocaster, a popular model inspired by the golden-era specifications of 1960s Stratocasters.

The body is crafted from classic alder, delivering a rich midrange and low-mid response with excellent overall balance. It is finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, which allows the wood to resonate naturally and respond dynamically.

The maple neck features a substantial Thick '60s "C" profile, paired with a premium rosewood fingerboard. While retaining a distinctly vintage feel, the guitar incorporates a modern-friendly 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and Vintage Tall frets to help reduce fretting out during bends.

Three Pure Vintage '65 Gray-Bottom single-coil pickups complete the vintage-inspired specification, faithfully recreating the original-era design down to details such as the enamel-coated wire, Alnico 5 magnets, and bobbin construction.

This particular instrument has also received a precision setup at our store using PLEK, an advanced computer-controlled fret-scanning and cutting system. The fret crowns have been meticulously leveled to micron-level precision, enabling a highly refined setup that is difficult to achieve through conventional methods alone.

The guitar shows signs of extensive use consistent with its age, including finish chips and dings. These cosmetic marks give it the character of a well-played instrument, making it an appealing choice for players who value a guitar with genuine playing history.

Pure Vintage '65 Gray-Bottom Pickups

Equipped with pickups designed to recreate the gray-bobbin specifications of 1965, this Stratocaster delivers a distinctive blend of vintage tonal characteristics. The rich, chewy low-mid response associated with earlier slab-board-era Stratocasters combines beautifully with the clear, articulate high-end bite of later round-laminate-board-era instruments.

From bell-like clean tones to thick, punchy crunch, these pickups deliver a wide range of classic Stratocaster sounds with plenty of character and definition.

Vintage Character Meets Modern Playability: Thick '60s "C" Neck and 9.5" Radius

Substantial neck profile: The Thick '60s "C" profile offers a comfortably full grip that sits naturally in the palm. Its substantial feel provides a solid playing foundation and helps deliver a focused tone with satisfying sustain.

Enhanced playability: The fingerboard features a relatively flat 9.5-inch radius and Vintage Tall frets, all while maintaining the guitar's traditional appearance. This combination helps reduce fretting out and unwanted fret buzz during bends, while supporting precise, controlled fingering.

Precision Setup by Our Store Using PLEK

Computer-guided fret optimization: PLEK scans the instrument under string tension to identify even the smallest variations in neck relief and fret height. Based on this analysis, the frets have been precisely leveled and recrowned to follow the ideal curvature of the fingerboard, from the fret edges to the crowns.

Comfortable low-action setup: The result is a consistent playing feel across the fingerboard, with smooth note articulation and carefully optimized action. The setup is designed to minimize unwanted buzz and dead spots while reducing left-hand fatigue during extended playing sessions.

This 2019 American Original '60s Stratocaster combines the unmistakable feel and tone of a vintage-inspired Fender with the benefits of a modern precision setup. A compelling choice for players seeking classic Stratocaster character, articulate single-coil tones, and refined playability.
