The American Fat Telecaster is one of the most versatile American Telecaster models from around the turn of the millennium. As part of the American Series, it combines the classic Telecaster design with modern features and an exceptionally flexible SH singlecoil/humbucker pickup configuration. Crafted at the historic Fender factory in Corona, California, it embodies the high-quality craftsmanship and characteristic playability of American Fender instruments from that era.

Sonically, the Fat Telecaster combines the legendary, twangy Telecaster tone with the warmth and richness of a humbucker. The Fender USA Tele single-coil at the bridge delivers brilliant highs, crisp lows, and a responsive attack, while the Fender USA DH1 humbucker at the neck impresses with warm mids, a round fundamental tone, and a singing sustain. The versatile 5-way switch allows you to select different pickup combinations, enabling the guitar to cover an impressive range of styles—from crystal-clear country and funk sounds to dynamic blues and powerful classic rock.

A sound sample of this model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.

The bolt-on maple neck with a comfortable Modern “C” profile delivers that familiar Fender playing feel and sits comfortably in the hand. The high-quality rosewood fingerboard, featuring a 9.5” radius and 22 medium jumbo frets, enables both precise chord playing and effortless bends. The modern Fender USA string-through-body bridge with six individually adjustable saddles ensures excellent intonation and direct response, while the Fender Deluxe staggered tuners guarantee reliable tuning stability.

Visually, the guitar features a stunning Candy Apple Red high-gloss finish, whose deep, shimmering metallic hue harmonizes perfectly with the three-ply White Pearloid pickguard and the shiny chrome hardware.

The classic Telecaster silhouette lends the instrument a timeless elegance, while the humbucker configuration underscores the distinctive character of this special American Series model.
