PDP Platinum 2008 10"x 8" Tom- Black Oyster Sparkle

Up for sale is a professional-grade PDP Platinum Series 10"x8" Tom in Black Oyster Sparkle. For those in the know, the Platinum series represents the absolute pinnacle of PDP's history and is considered one of the best-kept secrets in drumming. This line was Drum Workshop’s (DW) direct attempt to offer boutique, pro-tier kits at a more accessible price point. To make this happen while maintaining DW's strict quality control, DW pressed the raw North American Hard Rock Maple shells in their Oxnard, California factory using their proprietary DW molds, and then shipped the shells and hardware down to their specialized facility in Ensenada, Mexico for final finishing and assembly. Because these feature authentic 8-ply DW maple shells, they share the exact same wood pedigree and fundamental DNA as custom kits costing thousands more. Drum heritage enthusiasts widely note that DW eventually discontinued the Platinum line because the build quality and sonic depth directly rivaled DW's own high-end professional lines. These are not the modern, mass-produced intermediate imports; these are true premium instruments.

Key Features:

• 8-Ply North American Hard Rock Maple Shell
• Signature Dual-Oval Tube Lugs
• DW-engineered STM (Suspension Tom Mounts) for maximum resonance
• True-Pitch Tuning System for fine-grained tension control

Condition Notes:The drum is in excellent working condition and sound phenomenal. As it was used, there are minor cosmetic scuffs and light stick marks on the heads from normal play, but no structural damage, cracks, or extra holes. The 45-degree bearing edges are perfectly clean, and the shell hardware is fully functional. Please review the photos closely to see the exact cosmetic condition. PLEASE NOTE: This listing is for the 10" tom drum. No snare drum, cymbals, tom mounts, cymbal stands, snare stand, or bass drum pedal are included.
