PRS S2 Vela Black Limba Satin – Natural Smokeburst w/ Bag

This PRS S2 Vela in Natural Smokeburst is one of just 200 built by Paul Reed Smith in 2026, built around a tonewood rarely seen on an S2: a solid Black Limba body, left thin in a satin nitro finish that lets the wood’s natural figure show through the smoked-edge burst. At a featherweight 6.4 lbs., it’s an offset that’s easy to play for hours whether it’s on a couch, in a session, or under stage lights and with only 200 ever made, this is a genuinely hard-to-find piece in the S2 line.

A maple neck in PRS’s Pattern Regular carve (27/32″ at the 1st fret, 59/64″ at the 12th fret) wears the same fast satin nitro finish and joins the body via traditional PRS set-neck construction. The rosewood board carries PRS’s signature bird inlays at a 10″ radius, 22 frets of PRS standard wire, 25″ scale length, and a 1 21/32″ nut a neck profile built for speed without feeling thin in the hand. PRS Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons, a plate-style bridge, nickel hardware, and a 3-ply black/white/black pickguard round out a look that splits the difference between vintage and modern.

The pickup pairing gives this Vela its character: a PRS Narrowfield in the neck delivers full, hum-free single-coil-style clarity, while the PRS DS-01 in the bridge brings punchy, dynamic bite, with a push/pull tone control unlocking a coil-split for extra range and a 3-way toggle to move between the two voices. It’s a broader tonal palette than the price point would suggest. This limited PRS S2 Vela in Black Limba includes a PRS premium gig bag.
