The PGM100 is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1989. It is the first model produced for American guitarist Paul Gilbert as part of the PGM series. It is based on the RG770 and features the painted F-holes which would become a signature of the series.
This guitar was purchased from an in-person student of Paul's, who purchased it new. It was originally signed by Paul Gilbert on the control cavity cover plate, covered with clear protective tape.
I was also a student of Paul's - the online video exchange lessons. He graciously signed the back of the headstock for me during a guitar clinic resulting in a second signature on the same guitar.
The guitar is in very good condition, it has been a collector more than a player most of these years. The Jewel Blue finish looks great, with very few of the body dings that these guitars usually pick up.
There is one small ding between the bridge and middle pickup. The bridge pickup was changed by the original owner to a DiMarzio Tone Zone, same as Paul's personal guitar of that era.
There are hairline paint cracks near the neck pocket, a common occurrence on these guitars that does not affect anything except appearance. There are no cracks around the locking nut bolts.
There is minor tarnishing on the bridge where the player's hand rests.
There is no visible fretwear. The guitar plays fast and easy with the low action that these guitars are famous for. The neck is a Wizard neck profile.
Comes with Ibanez hardshell case. Free shipping in USA.
