Hello and welcome to The house of Chrome.

You are looking at one of the most famous and collectible Turner mics of all time. The Turner 33X with heavy deco influence and outrageous style that set it apart from most every other microphone ever designed. This is the early 1st generation 1940's 33X series mic and it comes with the period Astatic model desk stand shown in which to display. This will make a great display piece anywhere in the home, studio or office.

You'll see in pic # 2 an old 1940's Turner advertisement showing specs and priced on this mic.

The 33 series was first introduced in the 1940's and had a run of about 20 + years. The first generation 33 mics had a rounded lower pistol grip while the 2nd generation had the flat rectangular lower front pistol grip. Otherwise, the microphone looked the same. The 33 series also came with either a crystal or dynamic element. The crystal elements were inferior and wore out over time while the dynamic elements sounded much better and tended to last over the decades.

This is the crystal version but sure enough the original element no longer works. This should be used for repair, display or prop purposes only. One could always install newer crystal element or controlled reluctance element to get it back to working shape again.

As you can see the satin chrome finish is in extremely nice overall condition despite the lite signs of wear as seen in the pics provided. No engravings, dents, pitting or fractures. The satin chrome finish still has a gorgeous luster. The black cloth screen is just about perfect with zero rips or holes and the joint mechanism is flawless offering plenty of resistance to get the right angle needed and the threads for both the cable and stand are perfect.

The Turner badge shows no paint loss and it's completely legible.

The overall finish of the mic I would give a very conservative 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10.

MICROPHONE STAND IS PART OF THIS SALE...

The stand is a period 1940's era Astatic model with the painted aluminum base and 5 inch painted wood riser. The stand is an E6G model that allows you to twist off the handle from the base. It was a standard mic stand for it's time and the twist off design was also copied by Shure Brothers. The E6G makes for a very stable, lite weight platform that really compliments the 33X microphone.

This stand has almost no wear and a real gem. The painted 5 inch riser has a ebony painted finish with no wear. The Kona Brown painted base looks just as nice and has the 3 original rubber pad as well to keep the base from scratching any surface it may rest on. The mic with stand is appx 10 1/2 inches tall X 5 inches wide.

Mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have if you don't like the desk stand provided but the E6G will do the mic justice.

And as with all my items...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened due to too many unpaid mics lately. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
