Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very unique and older microphone stand from the 1940's and possibly even as early as the 1930's. This is classic design for that era and is an American brand but which I cannot state as there is not a stamp or number to show.

This style of stand was sold by a few manufacturers from the 1930 to late 1940's and some of those brand names were Masco, Emco, Eastern and even Atlas to name a few.

I put the Amperite model ribbon mic on the stand to give you an idea of how large this stand is.

These stands are getting harder to find and this is the first example I have had in for a few  years now.

This is a great stand for small, medium and many larger microphones as it has a fairly wide base yet it's lite weight with a smaller weighted bottom. It has the universal thread size (5/8 X 27) so you can use any screw on mic or mic clip.

Some people didn't want the solid cast iron bases on a banquet stand because the weight was excessive and if you had to hold the stand your arms would get tired so there were companies that offered the larger desk stands that were a fraction of the weight. This was one of them.

You'll notice that the base it a stamped brass design with a nice chrome plated finish. There is a 6 inch chrome riser that attaches to a weight under the base. It's a clever and practical design that will compliment any older mic that you have.

As you can see the stand has very lite typical wear in the form of scuff marks and scratches but zero corrosion, dents or fractures.

 I'd rate the cosmetic condition a true 8 on a scale of 1 - 10.

Total height of this stand is 8 inches tall X 6 inches wide.

I probably won't get another one of these in for a few more years. They just don't pop up very often.

This would make a great display piece with any older mic you have in the home, office or studio and sure to draw attention wherever it sits.

MICROPHONE SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.
