first off please forgive the lighting--i had the camera set to flash when needed--some of the photos are darker because the flash thought the light was okay--still it provides an almost over lit as well as an ambient perspective--

this guitar is the first full year Gibson went to the traditional p90 pick up from the huge "big whopper" started at the beginning of world war 2 that was then shrunk as the war progressed to a smaller variant because of metal shortages--this p90 pickup also appears in the neck position unlike most of its predecessors--the pick up on this guitar is superb--it sounds amazing and reads true to original factory settings--here's a link to the same guitar--1946--in blonde played on CME--this one sounds just like it

(this may be too long for the space reverb allows for pasting below--if you can't watch it it's worth--look up chicago music exchange 1946 es-300

the guitar is very solid--neck is perfect--there's plenty of room on the thumbwheels to lower action if one chooses but it's perfect for me and i love lower action--the heel is rock solid--the truss rod works in both directions--the tuners are aged replacement Gotohs that dropped in with out drilling new holes--in fact the bushing from the old tuners--which were completely useless--even worked--the finish is a beautiful timepiece of decades of playing--there is as you can see play wear all over it--there's checking in a uniform very attractive way--not the spider web checking that is at least for me unappealing--the p90 is original--the frets are excellent--the brazilian rosewood fretboard excellent--the tailpiece i believe is original--there are no cracks or repairs that i can see anywhere--the headstock is solid and the back of the neck worn smooth by hands but otherwise is lovely--the pickguard is a replacement--i don't really like it and if i were keeping this guitar i'd take it off or find a vintage replacement--it looks too new--the bridge is original but the saddle appears to be made of another kind of wood and is likely a replacement

All of these observations are evidenced in the photos i hope--i took the maximum reverb allows--

the guitar has a huge acoustic sound--it could be played acoustically if properly miced--

Listen to the video if you want to hear it played electrically but it's a major wow--jazz is its thing but it also excels at blues--especially old timey like Chicago or St. Lous blues--

the original case is sort of a mess--it's been heavily taped as you can see but it smells clean and all the latches work and it holds the guitar about like it did when it was new--these chipboard cases are notoriously minimalist anyway--i don't gig so it sits in my humidity/heat controlled studio on a stand--

i have perfect feedback in over 5000 transactions on ebay--most of them guitars or stamps--the two things i actively collect as well as perfect feedback here on Reverb

My luthier who worked at Westerly for Guild all through the 70s and was there at the same time as Carlo Greco is superb and he goes over all my guitars prior to selling them--anything he finds he fixes or i describe here .

if shipping is lower i will refund overpayment--shipping has skyrocketed with the war in iran and even reverb discounts won't cover cost of shipping plus insurance between the two coasts at the amount i'm asking here--west coast shipping might be less
