Personal Thoughts:
This is a beautifully judged Murphy Lab ’64 ES-335 and one of the most convincing modern interpretations of the classic mid-’60s 335 formula. The Cherry Red finish, small block inlays, rosewood board and lightly aged nickel hardware give it exactly the right vintage character, while the Ultra Light Aged treatment keeps the guitar looking naturally broken-in rather than heavily relic’d.

The ’64-style Rounded C neck carve is a great middle ground between the slimmer early-’60s profiles and chunkier late-’50s shapes, making it a very comfortable all-rounder. The semi-hollow construction gives the guitar that familiar blend of warmth, air and sustain, while the unpotted Alnico III Custombuckers provide an open, dynamic and highly responsive PAF-style voice.

The Murphy Lab ageing adds a lot of visual depth to the finish, with subtle checking and hardware patina giving the guitar the feel of a carefully preserved vintage instrument. A superb ES-335 for someone wanting authentic looks and feel without going into extreme relic territory.

Condition Report:
Excellent condition. The lacquer checking, finish ageing and hardware patina are all part of Gibson Custom’s original Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged treatment. There is one small additional impression to the side bout from use, otherwise the guitar presents exceptionally cleanly with no significant wear or damage to mention.
