Part of the legendary Ibanez Soundgear series, the SR500N brings together decades of innovation, premium craftsmanship, and exceptional tonal versatility in one sleek, high-performance instrument.

Featuring a comfortable Okoume body, five-piece roasted maple/walnut neck, powerful Nordstrand Big Break pickups, and an incredibly versatile three-band EQ, this bass is engineered for players who demand outstanding comfort, dynamic response, and complete control over their sound.

Whether you're laying down deep, thunderous grooves, cutting through a dense rock mix, exploring complex progressive passages, or dialing in smooth, expressive bass lines, the SR500N is ready to deliver.

Big tone. Fast feel. Unlimited possibilities.

The Legendary Soundgear Experience

For decades, Ibanez SR basses have been favorites among musicians who appreciate sleek body designs, fast-playing necks, and exceptional versatility.

The SR500N continues that tradition with a carefully crafted Okoume body, offering a bright, solid tonal foundation with a lively, responsive character.

Its comfortable design allows the instrument to sit naturally against your body, making it an excellent choice for long rehearsals, demanding studio sessions, and extended live performances.

Unlike bulky traditional bass designs, the SR series focuses on streamlined comfort and effortless playability, allowing you to concentrate entirely on your performance.

From delicate fingerstyle passages to aggressive picked rhythms, the SR500N responds with clarity, punch, and musical character.

Roasted Maple/Walnut Neck – Speed Meets Stability

At the heart of the SR500N is a premium five-piece roasted maple and walnut neck, combining exceptional strength, stability, and an incredibly comfortable playing feel.

The roasting process heat-treats the maple to reduce moisture sensitivity and improve resistance to environmental changes, helping the neck maintain consistent performance through demanding playing conditions.

Its sleek, fast-playing design allows your fretting hand to move effortlessly across the fingerboard, whether you're navigating intricate bass runs, executing technical fills, or locking into a deep rhythmic groove.

A beautiful rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth, natural playing surface with a balanced tonal character and focused midrange response.

Equipped with medium frets, the SR500N delivers accurate note articulation and comfortable fretting, making it equally suited to precise technical playing and expressive musical phrasing.

Every detail is designed to make the instrument feel natural, responsive, and inspiring.

Smooth movement. Precise response. Pure Soundgear comfort.

Nordstrand Big Break Pickups – Big Sound. Incredible Definition.

When it comes to tone, the Ibanez SR500N packs some serious muscle.

Armed with a pair of premium Nordstrand Big Break pickups, this bass delivers an impressive combination of powerful output, aggressive character, and exceptional clarity.

These innovative pickups feature a split-coil design housed in a soapbar-style casing, producing a full-bodied, punchy tone while retaining the articulate response and definition associated with single-coil designs.

The result is a powerful, balanced sound with tight lows, expressive mids, and clear highs—without the unwanted hum commonly associated with traditional single-coil pickups.

Dig in with a pick for aggressive rock and metal rhythms, or switch to fingerstyle playing for warm, expressive grooves with excellent note separation.

Whether you're playing punchy funk lines, smooth R&B passages, progressive rock, or hard-hitting modern metal, the Big Break pickups provide the clarity and power needed to make every note count.

Massive low end. Exceptional articulation. Zero unnecessary noise.

Ibanez Custom Electronics – Shape Your Signature Sound

What truly sets the SR500N apart is its remarkably flexible electronics package.

Equipped with Ibanez Custom Electronics three-band EQ, this bass gives you precise control over bass, middle, and treble frequencies, allowing you to shape your sound for virtually any musical situation.

Need thick, room-filling lows for a powerful groove? Dial them in.

Looking for punchy mids that cut through a wall of distorted guitars? You've got complete control.

Want crisp, articulate highs for intricate fingerstyle passages or dynamic slap techniques? The SR500N delivers.

The midrange EQ is designed with slightly different center frequencies for boost and cut, offering a broader range of useful tonal adjustments.

But the versatility doesn't end there.

Active Power. Passive Simplicity.

The SR500N features an EQ bypass switch, allowing you to move between active EQ operation and a more traditional passive signal path.

In active mode, the three-band EQ provides extensive tonal shaping, making it easy to tailor your sound to the room, amplifier, or musical style.

Switch to passive operation, and the treble knob becomes a global passive tone control, allowing you to shape your sound with a simpler, more traditional response.

This flexibility makes the SR500N an excellent choice for musicians who need multiple tonal personalities from a single instrument.

Whether you prefer a modern, sculpted active bass sound or a straightforward passive response, the SR500N is ready to accommodate your playing style.

Three-Way Mid Frequency Selection – Find Your Perfect Voice

Taking tonal customization even further, the SR500N features a three-way mid frequency switch.

This powerful control allows you to choose between three different midrange frequency options, giving you greater precision when shaping the character of your bass.

Select a lower midrange frequency for added body and fullness, emphasize the middle frequencies for punch and presence, or focus on higher mids for improved articulation and definition.

Combined with the active three-band EQ, this system provides exceptional flexibility for adapting to different musical styles and performance environments.

From warm vintage-inspired grooves to aggressive modern bass tones, the SR500N makes it easy to find the sound that fits your music.

One bass. Countless tonal possibilities.

MR5S Bridge – Precision You Can Feel

The SR500N features the innovative Ibanez MR5S bridge, designed to provide excellent string stability, precise intonation, and customizable playing comfort.

One of its standout features is the ability to independently adjust string spacing by approximately ±1.5 mm, allowing you to fine-tune the distance between strings to better suit your playing technique.

Prefer tighter spacing for fast technical passages? Adjust it to your liking.

Want a little more room for fingerstyle playing or dynamic slap techniques? The MR5S bridge gives you that flexibility.

This thoughtful design allows players to personalize the instrument's feel without sacrificing dependable performance.

Whether you're performing on stage or recording in the studio, the MR5S bridge provides a stable, responsive foundation for your playing.
