Here for sale we have a Fender James Burton Telecaster Electric Guitar in Red Paisley Flames finish. With an artist roster that includes Elvis Presley, Elvis Costello, and Emmy-Lou Harris, it only seems right that James Burton should have a guitar that is going to do whatever he needs, whenever he needs it. Made in the USA in 2006, this guitar features a Basswood body, a Maple neck with a nineties serial number, and a 21-fret Maple fingerboard. Other appointments include Gold hardware, Deluxe Cast/Sealed tuners with pearl buttons, a 6-saddle American Series string-thru bridge, and a set of Specially Designed James Burton Single Coil pickups. These pickups are wired to a master volume (s-1 switch), master tone, and a 5-way pickup selector. 

The Maple neck plays well, with the ‘60s U’ profile feeling comfortable in the hand and offering comfortable playability in all registers. The Maple fingerboard provides a durable playing surface, and with its 9.5" radius strikes a nice balance between easy chord playing and practicality for lead lines and string bending. The familiar lines of the Telecaster body feel as great in the arms as ever, and provide a comfortable playing experience in both standing or seated positions. 

The pickups installed in the James Burton Telecaster are a trio of Specially Designed James Burton Single Coils, which offer a unique balance between a twangy Telecaster sound, and the quack of a Stratocaster. The pickup switching is slightly different to your typical 5-way switch, with the middle position activating the bridge and neck pickup together. The S-1 Switch allows you to access position 2 and 4 in series rather than parallel. A truly versatile guitar that is sure to deliver in any musical situation.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the headstock display light signs of past use.

Neck: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard display light signs of past use.

Body: Overall excellent condition. All aspects of the body display light scratching which can only be sen under direct light. light finish imperfection is present to the bass side shoulder edge near the strap button, these can be seen under close scrutiny.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Truss rod tool (flathead driver) not included.

Hardware: Overall very good condition. Light to mild tarnishing and oxidation is present to the bridge plate and saddles, this is consistent with regular past use.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
