The 2014 Epiphone Wildkat is a standout semi-hollowbody electric guitar known for carving its own path between a solidbody powerhouse and a traditional jazz box. Originally introduced in 1999, the Wildkat became a modern favorite for players looking for vintage aesthetic flare and punchy tone without the overwhelming body size of a massive archtop.

Design & Body Style
Unlike traditional large-body semi-hollows like the Gibson ES-335, the Wildkat features a scaled-down, compact body that is only slightly larger than a Les Paul. The body construction is structurally unique: rather than using bent sides and a center block, Epiphone hollows out a solid block of mahogany and caps it with a laminated maple top. This hybrid design results in a highly resonant, warm instrument with excellent sustain, though it can still be prone to feedback at very high stage volumes.
