The Rebirth of a Classic with a Beautiful Faded Finish

The Les Paul Standard 50s Faded returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved—it has shaped the sound across generations and musical genres. It pays homage to Gibson’s golden era of innovation and brings that authenticity back to life. The Les Paul Standard 50s features a satin nitrocellulose finish that conveys the look and feel of a long-cherished instrument. It has a solid mahogany body without weight relief, as is typical for Les Paul models, and an AA-grade flamed maple top, which adds a bit of bite and brightness to the warm tone of the mahogany body—and let’s be honest, flamed maple just looks fantastic. The mahogany neck has a vintage 1950s-style profile and feels pleasantly substantial in the hand without being too thick. The satin finish ensures a smooth and responsive playing experience. The neck features a rosewood fingerboard equipped with 22 smooth-sliding medium-sized jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays. The fingerboard’s 12-inch radius makes chording in the first position and bending strings at the upper frets equally comfortable. The Les Paul Standard 50s Faded is equipped with an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, an aluminum Stopbar tailpiece, a Graph Tech nut, and Vintage Deluxe tuning machines with Keystone knobs, all of which contribute to its renowned sustain and ensure rock-solid tuning stability. Both pickups feature individual volume and tone controls with gold-plated knobs and slider indicators, so you always know exactly how you’ve set the controls. The Gibson BurstBucker 1 (neck) and BurstBucker 2 (bridge) pickups feature nickel covers and are hand-wired with tone-adjustment pots and Orange Drop capacitors. A hard-shell case is included to safely store the Les Paul Standard 50s Faded when you’re not playing it and when you’re traveling to and from your next show.
