Description: Up for sale is an exceptionally nice vintage German bow stamped "BAUSCH" and "SAXONY." Measuring 27 5/8 inches (stick length) and weighing exactly 70 grams, this sits at the ideal, classic weight spectrum for a nimble and expressive viola bow. Manufactured in the famous Markneukirchen workshop region for export during the late 19th or early 20th century, this bow is in remarkable condition for its age.This bow features the premium appointments characteristic of high-tier German workshop pieces:

• Fittings: Genuine silver mounts and fittings.
• Stick: Round profile wood stick (excellent premium Pernambuco) with beautiful, uncracked original varnish.
• Frog & Mechanism: Quality ebony frog featuring a classic mother-of-pearl eye inlay. The button and internal tightening mechanism function smoothly, hold tension perfectly, and remain beautifully fitted to the bow.

Condition Details & Luthier Note:
Structurally, this bow has been incredibly well-preserved with no cracks to the wood, head, or ebony frog. However, there is a slight lateral twist to the left on the upper portion of the stick. Because of this, it is being offered strictly as-is / as a project for a player or luthier to heat-straighten.At 70g, this will make a phenomenal, well-balanced playing tool once corrected.
