Tokai SG-101 2026 - Walnut

Founded in 1977, Tokai Gakki has earned high acclaim not only in Japan but also overseas.

Crafted by skilled artisans to ensure reliable quality, these instruments are affordable yet more than capable of meeting professional standards.

Featuring a slim, lightweight body crafted from generous amounts of mahogany and a double cutaway design that allows for smooth access, these guitars offer exceptional playability even on the higher frets. While maintaining exquisite body balance, they deliver the direct and speedy attack characteristic of the SG.

The original PA-2 pickup, the heart of the sound, is installed.

Its appeal lies in a delicate response that captures every nuance of your picking while building on the warm, deep mid-to-low frequencies characteristic of mahogany.

It produces a sweet, clear tone when played clean, and transforms into a gritty, sharp rock sound when driven. This instrument masterfully blends ease of play—which reduces strain on the guitarist even during long sets—with a vintage-inspired look and uncompromising Japanese craftsmanship.

We confidently recommend this exceptional instrument not only to serious guitarists who demand the highest quality but also to anyone seeking an easy-to-play SG that will last a lifetime.

With outstanding craftsmanship and sound—both hallmarks of Japanese manufacturing—this level of quality at this price leaves no room for any other options.

Please be sure to consider it.
