This is an unusually early example from the first year of Sound Creation New Dimension production. The line was formally introduced around 1985, but documented serial numbers show that limited production began during 1984.

The cymbal is in outstanding original condition. The Sound Creation and Medium Dark Ride ink logos remain exceptionally strong and complete. The center hole is clean and round, the edge is excellent, and there are no cracks, keyholing, dents, flea bites or repairs.

Because it has been stored and handled over the years, there are some very light surface marks, fingerprints and minor cosmetic signs of storage. These are visible in the photos and are mentioned for accuracy. The cymbal has not been polished or cleaned, preserving its original factory surface and ink.

The 18-inch Medium Dark Ride is one of the less frequently encountered models from Paiste’s highly regarded Sound Creation series. It offers a dark, complex character with articulate stick definition, a controlled wash and enough flexibility to open up as a crash.

This would make an exceptional addition to a serious Paiste collection while remaining a beautiful and highly usable musical instrument.

Please examine all photos closely, as they are part of the description. The cymbal will be carefully packed and fully protected for shipment.
